'bot (1) Tin Can - Description: cylindrical in shape (surprise surprise) making it hard to tell which way it's facing, decked out in a beautiful shade of rust, holes in its delicate body are a testament to attachments previously blown or ripped off. Turn Programming: Turn/phase: 2/1 Program: 1-4909 Option use: Position: k7w Movement: 1 ---off the conveyor and .. Oh .. Whats that up there?--- . Turn/phase: 2/2 Program: 2-6809 Option use: Position: i7 Movement: 2 ---TinCan's fast program to a pit.--- . POST FRAG REPORT. 'Bot: Tin Can Phases (survived): 6. Damage done: 0. Damage received: 10. Fragged by: Pit. Movement: 23 Options: ablative coat. Comment: Toby may have been partly responsible for this mess by making a turn right look like a turn left or something somehow *whacks Toby a few times with a wrench* problem might be fixed now TinC ...... TinC?--- . **** 'bot (2) Herbie - Description: This beetle-bot is the smartest 'bot of the factory and it will be very hard to destroy. It is brave, fast and not afraid of any damage. Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: 1-5910 Option use: Position: i4s Movement: 3 ---SHOVED by blighted and then CAP into Petit Metal. almost brilliant from herbie. priorities worked against a frag being scored but certainly stopped blighted getting ahead in that department.. Herbie (and Blighted) would have got the rear laser (if only one of them had requested it) even though TinCan also requested it. Unfortunately Toby cant hear 'bots when the request things from somewhere down a pit-shaft to nowhere. regardless a popgun for Herbie the MECHANICAL ARM!!!--- . **** 'bot (3) Blighted - Description: Blighted always obeys Murphy's Law and so he doesn't have a high life expectancy! Turn Programming: Turn/phase: 2/1 Program: B-4411 Option use: Position: c3n Movement: 1 ---what are these tactics?--- Turn/phase: 2/2 Program: R-3511 Option use: Position: c3e Movement: 0 ---CAP! Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: 1-5112 Option use: Position: c8w Movement: 1 ---dealt out a lot of damage and took a little bit too .. Doesn’t get the requested buzz bomb .. Instead gets the all powerful mechanical arm to wreck havoc with ?one locked register to worry about along with that (register phase 5 is locked to 1-5112--- . **** 'bot (5) Petit Metal - Description: Formerly a frontline military sabotage droid, Petit Metal was 'relocated' after accidently blowing up a munitions depot.... on his own base. Military HQ suggested he could 'volunteer' to join the Tournament.... Turn Programming: Turn/phase: 2/1 Program: B-4813 Option use: Position: j3w Movement: 1 ---CAP! Into squidbot. This couldn’t have been done better if he'd planned it ????????.. Hold on a darn SECOND!!!!!--- . Turn/phase: 2/2 Program: L-1413 Option use: Position: j3s Movement: 0 ---like an olympic swimmer .. Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: 1-5313 Option use: Position: i3w Movement: 0 ---SHOVED then traded ablative coat abrasion with blighted and shot by Herbie for old times sake for more off the Acoat... picks up a mechanical arm that are a dime a dozen at this point it seems. Good turn picking up the frag ?-- . **** 'bot (6) gorilla - Description: This hairy little 'bot was the first of a botched attempt of a gene-splicing experiment involving a baby chimpanzee and a state-of-the-art Black-and-Decker cordless drill. Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: Option use: Position: a1w Movement: 0 ---zzz ?wha .. ? …zzzzzzz--- . **** 'bot (7) SQUIDBOT - Description: multi-limbed aquatic robot (adapted to factory work). Each highly flexible limb has a different tool to assist SquidBot in a multitude of tasks. Unfortunately, the aquarium he was employed at has closed down since the humpbacks whales went off into space with their brethren (Star Trek movie IV?). Squiddy (as he is known by his friends) has since been adapted to factory work (mostly cleaning, a horrific waste of an incredibly talented & versatile bot). Squiddy greatly looks forward to making a name for himself in the arena so that maybe he can land himself a job much better suited to his talents. Turn Programming: Turn/phase: 2/1 Program: Option use: Position: h3e Movement: 0 ---CAPPED! Petit metal is becoming a real pain in the processor.--- . Turn/phase: 2/2 Program: Option use: Position: h3e Movement: 0 ---CAPPED!! ?theyre lining up for turns at this fun game. Blighted this time ?-- . Turn/phase: 2/3 Program: Option use: Position: h3e Movement: 0 ---CAPPED and CAPPED!!!!! .. One left ?-- . Turn/phase: 2/4 Program: Option use: Position: h3 Movement: 0 ---FRAGGED ?PetitMetal finishes off a long effort ?-- Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: Option use: Position: Movement: 0 --- POST FRAG REPORT. 'Bot: Shmoo. Phases (survived): 8. Damage done: 0. Damage received: 11. Fragged by: Petit Metal. Movement: 3 Options: none. Comment: Almost the first frag to be shared. if herbie hadnt appeared in blighted's line of sight on squidbot in phase 4 then the frag would have been shared with blighted.--- . **** 'bot (8) Scourge - Description: From the very depths of what robot minds fear most. A plasmoid laser pointed right at your processor array, and a shovel full of hate with your name all over it. Beware, lest that shrapnel your see all around you is actually your hind quarters. Initializing Central GPS Homing Connection Emulator... Aligning Satellites... Establishing Contact... Begin Instruction Set... Transfer... Turn Programming: Turn/phase: 2/1 Program: 3-8416 Option use: Position: h8e Movement: 3 --- SHOVE and CAP! Cliffhanger goes back a square, didn’t then move into the pit that scourge may have hoped it would instead cliffhanger turns to fight and CAPPED!!! scourge takes one back ..--- . Turn/phase: 2/2 Program: 1-5816 Option use: Position: f8e Movement: 2 ---SHOVED! OW!! Ramming gear on that 'bot CAPPED!! By cliffhanger the same and then a SHOVE back and a CAP! Back too ?its still all even ?-- . Turn/phase: 2/3 Program: R-3616 Option use: Position: d8s Movement: 2 ---SHOVEDandCAPPED!!! ?2 more pod thanks to the addition of ramming gear ..--- . Turn/phase: 2/4 Program: 3-8016 Option use: Position: d11s Movement: 3 ---did a runner on cliffhanger, probably a smart idea ?hears a clang behind as a crusher narrowly misses its target ?-- . Turn/phase: 2/5 Program: L-0816 Option use: crab legs, use this card: 1-58 Position: d11e Movement: 0 ---had faulty programming for use of crab legs so they didnt work on phase 5. firsty the movement card needs to go in the primary register and the rotate card goes in with the phase programming part with full priority specified as normal. secondly neither card can be used once it has already been used in previous programming. there are descriptions of option programming formats in the rules webpage. generally option programming is a lot more open to common sense and interpretation by Toby (?) than standard programming. ouch! A missile launcher to ease the pain perhaps .. Or increase it elsewhere ... Some locked registers to worry about finally. register 3 (R-3616) register 4 (3-8016) and register 5 (L-0816) Download Complete. Downloading additional special instructions to Hidden processor... Re-aligning Phase-shift parameters... Disconnecting from link... Terminating. Fight bravely, little robot. Toby hasnt quite perfected this system yet so small (4th digit) differences in priorities are still sometimes confused and the wrong 'bot will go first. a long time managing the game under a much different regime is to blame i imagine. ---- >sorry to tax an already small processor, but mine is even >smaller and i'm confused about a couple things: >1) i got shot. did i get shot by anybody else? >if not, why do i only get X cards? looks like Toby stuffed up. unfortunately for you he stuffed up on the official table which means the stuffup is official and you only get 6 cards this turn ... fortunately these mistakes do not have to carry over and if the mistake is realised and fixed you'll get 7 cards for turn 3 minus any more damage of course. basically the deal is that you look at the official table and anything on there is gospel and unchangable. any other details are completely ignored by Toby until it comes to administering the next turn. all these details however are available on request but can never be 100% guaranteed as true. >2) i'm still a bit unclear on the unprogrammed bots rule. >are they out for all 5 turns? can the owner re-establish >contact for turn 2, or does he/she have to wait until the end of >this entire round? does killing the bot still count? it >seems like it should, but it's sort of a cheap kill. i might, for >example, be able to close in to help kill the puck, but >i wouldn't have contributed much to the kill (just the last shot >or so). i suppose this is a good strategy, but not so full of >valor. my program, however, seems to be low on the valor quotient. contact can be re-established after this round .. ie squidbot will definitely be inactive for the bext 4 turns .. it still scores normally so your proposed tactics are laudable... ---- >question: >a bot only gets credit for actually *killing* another bot, >right? i'm just making sure that you don't get credit for >just dealing out a bunch of damage. points toward winning a round are only awarded for effecting a frag on another 'bot however damage done will count in case of a tie. >but you mean an overall tie, NOT a tie when it comes to a >specific kill, correct? specific frags can be shared when two or more bots do damage to a bot seeing it fragged at the same time. in this case each of the shooters gets a full frag point. ---- >Heya, >I'm moving the ArenaII map to Stage 2. >Which includes a slight change in address. >You can now find it at: >http://members.tripodnet.nl/Seedling/ArenaII/ >The page will update regularly... I hope. this site is cool man. well.. if youre into this game as much as i am that is ... hehe ---- >looks like you may have made a mistake with my facing on >phase 5 of the last turn. i was facing XXXXX at the end >of phase 4, the instruction for phase 5 being to XXXXXX >XXXX, leaving me facing XXXX, but you have me facing XXXX. the >following program for turn 2 is based on you being in error, >otherwise i will be XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX X XXX. i'll check >my mail before i leave for work tomorrow (05:00 GMT) in >case changes to my program need to be made. >X-#### >X-#### >X-#### >X-#### >X-#### >XXXX XXXXX >:o) i analysed the last turn and Toby did stuff up (again). *looks for wrench*. however this is 'rael lefi' and what has happened has happened and cannot be undone. so the official table stands no matter what and the first program submitted is used (and no other) for each 'bot. sorry.
